H. Michael Hogan III
H. Michael Hogan III has over 25 years specializing in stabilizing and turning around underperforming businesses. Mr. Hogan acts as both an advisor and a manager. As an advisor, he works with boards, management, lenders, and creditors guiding them through workout negotiations and developing comprehensive turnaround strategies which would include organizational change and divestitures. As an manager, he has led companies through revitalizations and workouts in a variety of ways, including development and implementation of business plans, strategic restructuring, development of corporate metrics and management tracking systems, implementation of cost reduction programs, financing agreement negotiations, supplier negotiations, and identification and execution of asset sales. Mr. Hogan has held senior executive positions in both public and private companies in software, telecommunications, manufacturing, distribution, construction and retail.
Among his recent assignments, Mr. Hogan oversaw day-to-day operations for a construction company facing significant operational and working capital issues. His past activities include operating an optical components company to assess the business and develop strategic options, interim general manager for a wine producer where he assisted in developing and executing a revitalization program, CFO of a publicly traded telecommunications software and equipment supplier to stabilize the business and analyze and develop strategic alternatives, senior executive a publicly traded software company responsible for stabilizing the business and orchestrating a sale, CFO at a telecommunications supplier where he was instrumental in the evaluation and strengthening market and financial position and then affecting a merger and has held various interim CFO positions.
Mr. Hogan has earned his Certified Turnaround Professional and Certified Insolvency Reorganization Accountant certificates. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), The Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors (AIRA) and a past managing editor of TMA’s Journal of Corporate Renewal. Mr. Hogan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Colgate University.
